March 12, 2008

Meeting called to order @ 7:30pm (After Dinner)

 

  1. Members in Attendance; David Weisser, Tom Ayers, Mark McFerran, Drek Beardsley, John Graham, Danny Martin, Terry Schneider, Michael Govero-Cox, Robert Stucky
  2. Approval of January’s Minutes: Motion to approve by Michael Govero-Cox and 2nd  Drek Beardsly and passed unanimously.
  3. Approval of Financial Report: (See attached)- Terry Schneider motioned to accept, Michael Cox 2nd, and passed unanimously. 

 

Old Buisness:

  1. Reminder to pay membership dues NOW, if you haven’t already paid.
  2. Detector Check Study – Tabled for next meeting
  3. Testers and Specialist Manuals – Terry Schneider has mentioned we need to purchase more manuals.  We only have 10 in inventory of each and is seeking approval to purchase more.  A motion was made by Terry Schneider and 2nd by Drek Beardsley.  Passed unanimously.
  4. Report on past classes by Tom Ayers-Praise given to Tahachi Palace for hosting the classes Class had 12 students with no failures.

 

New Business:

  1. Next Testers and Refresh Testers Classes to be started on April 1st , three evenings with ABPA exam on the 4th and AWWA exam on the 5th at the Fresno Water Yard.
  2. Fresno City College is requesting a class to be held at Tahachi Place.  They are also wanting to bring back Education degree’s in the Water Field.
  3. National ABPA Convention in Indianapolis – Danny is going as Vise-Presidnet and Terry Scheider is attending as National Rep.  Since nobody else could make it and Tom Ayers was available as Board Member and Instructor, David Weisser motioned to not start a past practice but to allow Tom Ayers and Travel and Conference Registration to be paid for by the CVC-ABPA.  2nd by Drek Beardsley and passed unanimously.
  4. Reminder of Febco open house.
  5. Next 40 hr Testers Class to be offered in the Fall of 2008.
  6. AWWA Relationship – What can be done to work with AWWA without them feeling like ABPA is encroaching on there membership? Special discussion was tabled for future meeting.

 

Meeting Adjourned 8:34pm.

Next Meeting to be moved back to Brooks Ranch in Selma on May 14th, 2008 at 6:30pm
